Bathroom Remodeling Ideas For Those With Small Bathrooms
If you have a small bathroom that seems really cramped and overcrowded, there are a number of things that you can do to improve this situation. Some of these bathroom remodeling ideas are simple and inexpensive, while others will take a bit more planning and money in order to implement them.
One of the easiest bathroom remodeling ideas to implement, as well as one of the least expensive, is to repaint your bathroom. If your bathroom is a darker color, this makes it appear smaller, so you should repaint it in a lighter color. This holds true with the flooring as well, it doesn't cost a lot to change your bathroom flooring and it can make a big impact.
Since many of us do not take baths, you can also remove a large bathtub and replace it with a shower stall. If you do like to take baths, a corner bathtub might be a good option to take up a bit less space in the bathroom while still allowing you the option to have a bath when you want one.
Big floor cabinets to hold sinks can also take up a lot of space. One of the bathroom remodeling ideas that many people with small bathrooms use is to replace these with a pedestal sink and a few wall shelves placed in an area of the wall that would otherwise not be used.
Most people like to have some sort of mirror in the bathroom so they can check and make sure they look okay before they go out to face the world. Mirrors on the wall can also make a room look larger if they are placed correctly, and they can save you some space over standing mirrors.
Among the small bathroom remodeling ideas that many people might not think of, you can also change your bathroom door. If your door swings into the bathroom like most standard doors, this means you can't put anything in the door's path. However, if you replace the door with sliding pocket doors you will have more usable space in your bathroom.
Whatever changes you are planning to make with the larger items in your bathroom, it might be best to play around with some scale drawings or a computer program to find the best layout and make sure any new purchases would really fit into the space you have available.
